I usually don't go down this far in the rooms to the older threads, but then I stumbled upon this gem...
: I WAS EMPLOYED FOR WALMART FOR 3 MONTHS AND WAS FIRED FOR USING PROFANITY TOWARDS A CUSTOMER.
That so-much is unwise, and uncalled for. Is it any wonder?
THE REASON WHY IT CAME TO THIS POINT IS BECAUSE THE MANAGERS ON THE SALESFLOOR DIDN'T BOTHER TO TRY AND CALM ME DOWN IF ANYTHING THEY WERE CONCERNED ABOUT A CUSTOMER IF THEY ARE GOING TO LOSE BUSINESS.
So it's the managers' fault you couldn't, or wouldn't, control your hothead?
THE CUSTOMER INSULTED ME, LOW RATED ME OVER A PAIR OF SOCKS THAT SHE PICKED UP IN THE WRONG PLACE AND ASSUMED THAT WRONG PRICE. THAT BITCH MADE ME SO UPSET I WAS CRYING AND SHAKING THAT BITCH MADE ME SO MAD BUT GUESS WHAT. WALMART DIDN'T CARE ABOUT ME AND MY FEELINGS. THEY TOOK ME TO THE BACK AND FIRED ME.
Seems to me you're blaming your outburst at the customer, and the resulting termination, on that customer and the managers. But it seems to me like you just plain have an attitude problem, and will take advantage of any opportunity to lash out at someone. YOU should have called the floor manager over to resolve the price ordeal. If the customer really was belligerent, then the manager could have told her to leave the premises, by security escort if necessary. As for them being concerned about that customer, well if I were running a business I would do everything I could to retain every customer that walks through the entrance. And who knows? The price on that shelf could have been the right price for those socks. Inaccuracies in the computer bar code tables are not unheard of. It sounds to me like she was a serious, valuable customer, not someone who came up with the intent of raising hell.
BUT I LEARNED SOMETHING FROM THIS. I'M AM 18 YEARS OLD AND IT WAS MY FIRST JOB. I DON'T CARE WHERE YOU WORK IF THE COMPANY THAT YOUR WORKING FOR
: DOESN'T VALUE YOU THE EMPLOYEE ENOUGH TO KNOW THAT YOU ARE A PERSON AND HAVE FEELING
I wouldn't put a high value on somebody either who looks for an excuse to blow up at someone. Sounds to me like this was not the only performance issue on your behalf, or they might have let you off with a stern warning. Perhaps you were just piddling around when she was back in line, just slowly scanning the items, with a glum or no expression on your face. Perhaps the customer was in a hurry, and you came across to her as somebody who doesn't give a shit. And when she finally got her turn at the checkout she was already pissed off about the unneccessary wait. And the conflict over the socks might have been the last straw. You didn't fill in the details, and you were quick to put the blame on the customer and management in your post, plus you typed in all upper-case. If you intend to establish that you're employable, you need to do better at keeping your emotions and attitude in check.
JUST LIKE THE CUSTOMER. YOU DON'T NEED THAT JOB. YOUR SELF RESPECT IS WAY MORE IMPORTANT THAN SOME DAMN JOB.I WAS ONLY MAKING $5.88 AN HOUR BEING A CASHIER. THE NEXT WEEK AFTER I GOT FIRED I FOUND A JOB THAT PAYS $6.OO/HR. +TIPS. LIKE I TOLD THEM IDON'T NEED THIS DAMN JOB.
And if you want to last more than 3 months at this job, make sure you are always courteous to your customers, and always put in a good effort. Lose the attitude. That's all.
