'If it weren`t for these big companies then we just would not have technologicallt advanced as much as we did this century.'

what has technological advancement done for anyone except the rich. All of the technological advancements you mantion have done nothing to improve the life of anyone. Henry Ford - mass production of teh car , resulting in mass pollution and factories - broinging about further exploitation of workers.
Bill Gates - publicisor of computers, owner of a 'monopoly'(proven) on software, charging well over the odds for computers that do not work properly. No product has ever been bought by so many people that has worked as badly as the computer, and more importantly windows 9x. Gates' system of having to upgrade is teh most blatant case of unfair capitalism i have witnessed in my (short) life.

Thomas Edison, may be partially excused, but the radio have served only as another weapon in the globalistion of companies and ideas. The radio has served to further indoctrinate children and make countries in the west more and more alike and less and less caring of the individual.
Technological advancement has helped teh human race merely to become lasyier and less caring of teh world and the people who live in it.
