Nader Speaks on Corporate Crime, Corporate Welfare

NADER TO BE ON BALLOT IN 45 STATES.. TRYING FOR ALL FIFTY

C-Span today broadcast a press conference in which Ralph Nader
announced his campaign for president of the U.S. on the Green Party
ticket. He said that ClintonGore had betrayed the principles put forth
in his book through a billion dollars subsidy to the car industry
which had yielded nothing. The Texas of George Bush he said is
2nd worst in hunger (poster's note: whole families living under bridges
and eating out of dumpsters) and that corporate grip on Texas politics
is even worse now. Corporations pay a smaller percentage of profits
in taxes now than in the fifties and sixties. Nader said whereas
in 1996 his campaign was not recognized by the Federal Elections
Commission and was on only 20 state ballots, this time it will be
on at least 45 and perhaps all 50. He said the most repressive
election laws for third parties were in Oklahoma, Texas, North Carolina, Georgia, Michigan, Illinois, and West Virginia.
