: : Another common complaint is the eltromagnetic fields from electronic appliances. I'm starting to get concerned about sitting so close to my monitor, seeing as how it appears many in the cap+alt section may have been afflicted with some type of disorder from spending so much time online.

: EC:
: Yes, I have considered electro-magnetic fields, and do understand the dangers. (I type fast!)

: Sprout:
: : People should concentrate on whats known to be harmful, carefully weighing the tradeoffs that are invovled in virtually every case.

: EC:
: This what I have advocated on the subject! You fail to see, though, that the multi-national conglomerates and their huge pile of resourses actively hide the truth from people who use their products, and anyone who speaks up is a troublemaker or a fear monger, as you put it. Your blind faith in the capitalist institutions is really laughable, and negates any point you have ever made about mcdonalds food. You have no continuity in your arguements.

: When exactly was it that I complimented you? I only questioned how you could possibly believe the tripe fed to you by the multi-national conglomerates, when at times you seem so intelligent? I have speculated that in time you will come around.

: Sprout:
: : As for the NHL, I blame greedy labour.

: EC:
: So those logo's all over the boards (and now the ice) are union labels?

: So the Pepsi Centre and GM Place (that are continually replacing community owned facilities) are really union halls?

: So the luxury boxes of all the new stadia are for union meetings?

: So when the winnipeg and quebec franchises jumped ship it wasn't because the US dollar is attempting to rule the world?

: If the so called "players union" were indeed a true industrial union, the players would not cross the picket lines of ticket vendors, janitors, snack bar workers, and zamboni drivers. "Greedy Labour" my ass. Just call it by it's real name: Capitalism.

: Next year's semi finals:

: New Orleans Canadiens vs Houston Maple Leafs
: Seattle Canucks vs Las Vegas Oilers
: (Eliminated in first round: Milwaukee Flames, Portland Senators)
: You and Don Cherry will have a heart attack and blame "Labour."

: P.S. Your "popularity" is in the fact that there is so much to refute in your postings! But your EGO tells you different!

I hardly would say you have advocated considering known evidance and weighing tradeoffs when you call Nutrasweet "poison" and cliam it would be better to weigh 400 lbs. then to drink it or to die of starvation tan eat at McDonald's. If the choice was between McDonald's and starvation, I'd be first through the drive thru.

The overwelming evidance remains that nutrasweat is perfectly harmful. Witness the quick removal from the market of phen-fen after questions were raised about its safety. You are so quick ot dismiss anything said by a corporation as untrue, but accept as gosphel anything said against them on a web site (note to EC-there is a lot of misinformation on the web). Would you call the peanut "poison"? To some it is deadly to touch, no question. I don't see any evidance that nutrasweet has killed anyone. I have previously dealt with the fact that sacharine was pulled from the market over fears of cancer. It was later determined that this was caused by a reaction with a chemical unique to rats, and posed no threat to humans.

Would you rather have government subsidize arenas with taxpayer dollars than have Corpoate sponsers put their names on them? Afterall, wouldn't that be corporate welfare your so against for the "greedy" owners, like the Ontario Teachers union pension fund, who owns a big chunk of the leafs.

As you obviously don't understand the role of currency markets, I won't get into your comment on the US dollar ruling the world, but would ask how this caused Minnesota and Hartford to relocate, as well as numerous NFL and MLB teams. It's a small market problem not a Canadian problem.
