: There are people that are offended and unknowledgeable about why we should not have ANY animal testing and believe that it would take human volunteers to replace it.This is NOT so.

Of course, as human testing is done everyday and is prescribed by law! (see my post further below including a quote by former animal researcher Dr. Chris Anderregg making this point).

There Are methods MORE effective and reliable where not a single living creature has to be sacrificed!

Here, here! Though i wouldn't say "more effective and reliable" than animal testing, rather, that the these other methods ARE effective and reliable as they are based in the scientific method and are relevant to humans which animal testing isn't.

To think otherwise would be ignorant!Learn your facts before you again try to debate with somebody!!!!

Yes, yes, yes, naive animal rightists do SO much DAMAGE on this issue when they open their mouths and whinge about "how sick animal researchers are" and "don't hurt the fluffy animals" because they make the opposition to animal research look like a joke. This is a serious issue. If you are appaulled by animal resarch then that's totally understandable but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE find out the scientific facts about why animal research doesn't work and how it is reponsible for much human suffering through the application of misleading results obtained from animals.

Each time an animal lover opens their mouth and objects to animal research only on moral and cruelty grounds, but can't refute the pro-vivisection "animal research saves human lives" claims, they are reaffirming the belief in other people's minds that "animal research is science and useful for human medicine".

By not learning the scientific arguments against animal research you are helping to perpetuate animal research and the consequent damage to humans through unsafe pharmarceuticals and medical procedures as well as the ongoing contamination of the environment with toxic chemicals declared "safe" through flexible and unscientific animal tests.
