: Qx: Well, you really blurbed out a mouthful of bilge but go ahead and tell it to the corporation and not me. you think their so benevolent then go ahead and stick your face into the deep fat frier and tell them about it.

I'm telling YOU because YOU said that local governments won't even question the company due to it's monetary grip on so many legislatures.
EHO's are part of local government. If anything they are over zealous because of the BIG name of McD's. A bit like yourself, really.

And for the record, please note the following points, and refer to them for future replies:-

-I do not think McD's is a benevolent corporation
-I do not post here to defend or represent McDonald's

: Qx: Tough shit you sycophant. Get a franchise and pay as little for the labour as possible eh? If you think that's defensible then ethics are not what really concerns you and if you say otherwise then you're a liar.

I do not have a franchise. But I work for a franchisee, and yes, it would be nice for all of us to be paid more. I certainly do not defend it, so according to your logic, I am not a liar.

: Qx: Who's being the yap? You're being paid for it and I guy who types out pro-corporate stuff as he has doesn't need help from anyone else except himself. Now look at the ground and clean that mess you made.

WRONG. When I am in work, I am paid to do what I do. When I am at home, in front of my PC, it is on my own time, and my opinions are my own. I base those opinions on many things, INCLUDING what happens in work.

: Qx: Sniff your own knickers and the essence of McD's will become ever so splendorous. You use a strawman technique in debating and so I'll insult you back. You should be doubted again and again since you try to convince others that you really care about the world and working conditions but being a part of a filthy corporation like McD's just about says it all.

Qx, you really need to calm down a bit. I don't want to convince anyone of anything. I just want to say my piece. If you read something else into it, well, that's up to you. If I've an opinion, I'll say it, just like everyone else on this site. But you are like a dog with a bone when you home in on someone who expresses an opinion different to yours. Just live and let live, will you ? And if you want to get your point across, stop slagging people. Take for instance Flint (your comrade). It's hard to believe you two are in the same cause. I have a lot of respect for him. He is pretty respectful and tries to persuade people without all the flames. You get too wound up, and end up roasting people, and turn them right off. Flint's approach is a lot more user friendly, I'm quite prepared to listen to what he has to say. But you are a cyber fascist !
(Oh help me, here come's the roasting....)

: So by accusing me of being on a pedestal is very unrealistic and shows a need to castigate me in the name of a corporation that's grown rich by exploitation and lots of other unethical practices. McD's deserves criticism and if you have to claim that I'm on a pedestal then you're simply showing that your loyalties don't lie with humanity but with corporate elites who control and shape the lives of millions in a myriad of ways. If you haven't developed a social conscience then media spin can be a great specialty and you show it by defending McD's.

LISTEN TO ME. I do nothing in the name of the corporation. I don't deny that McD's deserves criticism. And I'm afraid I had to get the sick bag out when I read that you have put yourself on a pedestal for humanity. All your posts stink of "I'm the expert, I know everything, listen to me, ignore everyone else." Whatever you say, and however you say it Qx, at the end of the day it's only YOUR opinion. And if someone happens to go against your philosophy for life, accept it, don't have the arrogance to insult them.

: Now define false consciousness. Come on...your reply should be fun. By the way ever heard of ethical subjectivism? If you understand the concept then you wouldn't have asked the stupid question in regards to differing viewpoints. Go and read a book before you try to be so nice and polite.

Look, Qx, time and time again, you spin this web of "ism's", invite someone into it, then wrap them up in spin and totally detract from the original issue. Just accept we don't agree, stop slating other people on this for expressing their thoughts (however misled you think they are)
And less of "step outside" battle of the philosophers bullshit. Your consciousness could be just as false, even though you've set yourself up as judge and jury in that department. Just stay up their and sit quiet on your pedestal, and I'll get myself a big umbrella.

: Qx: I'd like you to love and kiss something else but you might cry at the prospect of losing all your coporate-begotten money.

How else is money "begotten" , if not corporately ? Oh, let me guess, in your town, they just hand it out on street corners. Sorry, in my town, everyone has to earn it. At least until you guys replace our wage system with the barter system, that is. I'll look forward to slogging my guts out in exchange for a sack of salt. I'm sure the local supermarket will be happy to receive that in payment for my groceries.NOT.
