Yup, the comment they made to you should have come after Qx, if McSpotlight had any actual interest in upholding their "guidelines". Once again there should be no guidelines (once again disregarding SPAM) if they arent going to be uphold. Then we could all be spared the commentary on how fair they are. NG's and posting boards elsewhere successfully moderate themselves, why do vegetarians and communists need the added protection of the McSpotlight moderators?

McSpotlight: Moderate themselves? Are you talking about *.moderated newsgroups (which either have a human moderator or a robo-moderator or require you to "wave the dead chicken" to post (i.e. forge X-headers)). I think you'll find that the majority of truly unmoderated forums are havens for k3wl d00dz who want to prove just how cool they are by posting the electronic equivalent of graffiti to the forums. Given that we a) have a fairly controversial topic to debate here and b) have limited server space and c) have to try and keep things reasonably focussed.

Of course, each of our moderators have a varying degree of tolerance for the things that would ideally not be posted. So there are things which might be borderline; in this case it is at the moderator's discretion. Remember also that vegetarians and Communists are figures subjected to irrational attack with some regularity; some of the things that get sent to the Debating Room are pretty obscene and/or objectionable. By and large, we try to treat everyone with fairness and equality, as long as they don't waste too much space. We are human, though.
