Well, you may be happy with your lot mate, but tehre are plenty of otehrs who aren't, and since they are members of your society, sdon't you think you ought to do a little something for them?

: yeh sure mcdonalds is a multi billion dollar buisness. But thats the big picture. When you look at the big picture, the obvious comment would surely be they can pay us more. But try looking beyond that union mentality to see the thousands of private owners out there that struggle from month to month.

Indeed, you have cut to teh nub with your incisive analysis yet again. through the franchising system McD's avoids repsonisibilities for paying the staff, or even having a singular staff, they take their money, and fleece the poor struggling restraunt owner, who in turn must pass it on to their staff...you really have a talent for pointing up the most despicable features of McDonalds practise...

: And there are many of those such owners out there. As for myself being happy with 7.90 an hour, I'm very happy.

I'm glad you're happy, all power to you mate, thats what we're here for, however, the Practise of McD's of holding wages low, specifically in Britain (and this was found against mcD's in eth McLibel trial) depresses wages acorss teh whole catering sector, forcing many people to have a wage that makes them unhappy...lets try and get everyone a wage that makes them happy..

: What do expect a teenager to make?

I expect a teenager to get teh same rewards for a job as anyone else, paid for teh value of their work and not because they live with their parents, pay them less due to need...

:I have many friends in differnt jobs that started between 7.00--7.50. But guess what, their still at that amount. They laughed at what I was making to begin with, but guess who's laughing now?? And guess who put applications into mcd's?

Indeed, but why should you be luaghing at your friends low wages- you should be helping them get better wages...

: What I,m trying to say is to give your head a shake. Sure a higher paying job would be nice, but realisticly teenagers don't need to make billions, and don't need either.

Perhaps not, but through targetting a section of society that they can pay less, McD's ensure themselves more profits. Teenagers should be paid an equal amount for the work they do, as anyone else in the firm. Its a basic principle, they are ripping you off, payment for the value of work, not for teh value of the worker...

:There are adults working at my mcd's and they all make well over 8.50 an hour. Most of them are either seniors who don't need the money but like dealing with people and filling in their day at mcd's, or people who's spouse has a big time job somewhere and their just there to have more spending money or to help out with an odd bill.
Indeed, but there are others out there for whom it is their only job (or face the wrath of the evil welfare system...). Surely peopel should be properly renumerated for the work they do, specifically since we have to defend those who rely upon such jobs...

your insight is always valued Mike, I just wsh you'd follow through your analysis with teh correct conclusions...
