Before I worked for McD's here in NI, I worked in England, and had many opportunities to visit stores there. Where this guy works, in central London, the crew are treated pretty bad. There is a very high turnover, and a lot of pressure from above. Many stores have a competing McD's (not to mention BK or whoever else) within 3 or 4 mins walk. This pressure translates itself into short tempered, aggressive behaviour from managers, and, unfortunately, incidents like he described. There is a saying in the company, that if someone behaves in a rude and aggressive way, they have a real "London attitude". It was the way things were done in McDonald's 15 years ago - loud and in your face. Except this manager took it a bit too far. It's sad, but it doesn't surprise me. The crew in stores in the centre of London are treated like shite.
