Gday to you all!
hmmmm..... Its seems as if if created quite a controversial debate on the issue of employment with McDonalds.
let me clear up a few things.
1# Some people have a misconception of my views about work ethic.I am not against teenagers working for their pocket money as long as it does not interfere with school or doesnt take their youth away from them by making them work 40-50 hours per week in their summer holidays for example- you are young only once and you cant argue with that. I know that it definately interfered with my education even though i said i could not work certain shifts - i still got rostered on and No i wasnt allowed to swap .
2# Someone wrote something thinking that I constantly get asked to clean baseboards because im a crappy worker. This is not true. I hardly ever get asked to do this as i am nearly always order- taker on drive thru and am in another section of the store. Besides if i was such a bad worker do you think that I would get as many hours as my timetable allows and get called in to work 4-5 times a week?? I am 19 years old and not many even get regular shifts after they turn 18. The thing about baseboards was a hypothetical scenario created by green frog that through 'chinese whispers' got exaggerated and twisted.
3# The job would not be so bad if a little- just a little appreciation was shown to me and the other crew just once in a while. The previous owner once sat me down and said I was one of the strongest crew there. Despite working my ass off for 4 years, despite volunteering to clean the dining room ( LISTEN FROGGY) , despite constantly coming in when im called ( they know they can rely on me to come in even at a hours notice), despite frequently staying back sometimes without pay, despite my decent performance review reports, DESPITE ALL OF THIS I HAVE NOT EVEN RECIEVED A SINGLE LITTLE PIN- its not the pin itself that i want , just a simple token of appreciation like once a year would be nice- like what does it cost a few dollars a year to make someone 'enthusiastic'???
4# so this is where my attitude is coming from. IT IS VERY DEGRADING TO WORK AS A SLAVE - JUST LIKE IN THE ANCIENT EGYPTIAN TIMES.
AND YES I DO LOOK DOWN ON ANYONE WHO ACTUALLY APPRECIATES THIS KIND OF TREATMENT. THERE IS A REASON WHY MACCAS IS WELL KNOWN GLOBALLY FOR EXPLOITING ITS WORKERS- the reason is because its the truth!!!
to anyone wishing to reply feel free
to anyone wanting to argue with this letter you are more than welcome- I will debate on this issue till the day i die.
