Rubbish Disposal

I work in a macca's store in Australia and I was doing a garbage run the other day when it occured to me that there are high amounts of cardboard waste going to the bin with regular, everyday waste products.
I am planning to talk to the store manager about the subject but for the meantime I would like to know if there are any macca's stores around the world which recycle theie cardboard wastes?? and or if there are any actions or decisions being made whch would lead to a more environmentaly friendly working store??
