: : : Well, one thing led to another, I'm sure, and thus this Operation Tailwind makes sense to me as a sort of revenge for "fragging." Doesn't it? I'm sure the top brass found out about "fragging" sooner or later, and planned a few countermeasures to secure the "loyalty" of the troops...

: My mistake: it was presumptuous of me to assume that they would gas US troops as revenge. It just occurred to me that there's an alternative explanation that makes perfect sense, and I should have read the articles more carefully. If this mission occurred in Laos, it's likely that these were US secret agents doing their jobs, and that they were killed simply for knowing too much about CIA drug-dealing operations in Laos. Thus calling them "deserters" could simply have beena ruse for business as usual.

Hey Sam! Are you going to retract your wild accusations now that CNN
has been caught fabricating the news you based them on? If not, you've
just taken one more step toward extinction. The attention that should
be given to this incredible lack of journalistic integrity will
regrettably not overshadow the original lie even if the proper heads
roll - as is expected. Too bad. At least you have been shown as you
truly are in this thing. That is - a reactionary radical willing to go
off half cocked with a psuedo-intellectual paranoid rant. Maybe that
was harsh but I have a great deal of respect for those who serve their
country and disdain for those who attack them with spit and lies.
