What you are really arguing about is the fact that capitalists believe that profit = wealth created (value - cost) whereas socialists think profit = wealth stolen (value from workers - value given to workers).

Socialism assumes that the total amount of wealth is fixed, Capitalism assumes the opposite.

Look around at the sheer amount of productive power created in the 20th Century and then decide who is right.
