Kevin,

Before comparing Samuel Day Fassbinder to Hitler or Stalin, there are a couple of things you should be aware of:

1) Hitler rounded up Socialists and Communists while leaving the Capitalist Infrastructure virtually untouched. (Uncle Sam rounded up Socialists and Communists starting in 1919 with the Palmer raids, and continued them while Hitler did the same.) Hitler adopted the name "National Socialist" to deliberately differentiate his ultra-nationalist regime from "International Socialism", a very real concern for every ultra -nationalist at the time.

2) Stalin did not "force" the revolution, he merely capitalized on it, with a second revolution. Striking women (the 'bread' strike) and men fed up with 4 years of trench warfare in WWI filled the streets to protest, and the Czar had ordered troops to fire on them. They refused, and instead shot their officers, and the revolution quickly started. Stalin did not take power until the interim government was overthrown. Read up on the subject before you go off half-cocked.

P.S. You ARE the guy in line at the Kroger!
