: : You are probably at a management level somewhere inculcating free market doctrine which is synonymous with climbing up the corporate ladder and there's some of us who feel and know through institutional analysis that that multinational corporations pull the strings of government. If unions are more corrupt than corporations I guess we can discount the millions of victims of US foreign policy who have suffered so much due to pressure from multinationals who encourage suppression of basic human rights globally.I don't know of any unions (corrupt or otherwise) who have built up such a staggering pile of dead bodies. Then again that may not qualify as corruption and neither is the lack of media coverage concerning the role of multinational corporations in massacres, etc.

: Where do you get your information?

(Here's lots of information.) Please don't reject this and refuse to read through this just because I referred you to them. Many folks used to share your beliefs.

As for being at management level somewhere I'll admit it was an ad hominem commentary as SFD points out.But it could be a good guess.

As far as my thinking that most Anericans are dummies, you are incorrect. I feel most Americans are intelligent enough to know what is going on but don't have the education or are diverted, etc from learning about the world or even the dark side of the American past.

: Turn the tv off, turn off the radio, don't read the junk mail...educate yourself and your kids, don't talk about taking away my right to be an idiot

None of us are taking away your right to be an idiot.

: Moderation is the key.....all you can do in a democracy is to educate yourself and trust others......that is the crappy part of freedom....

Freedom means reponsibility. Quite the heavy burden when compared to the conveniences of this present day consumer culture which is finite
and (in my opinion) coming to an end. Not today ,not tommorrow but in the forseeable future.

: Be happy that you have the time, energy, and resources to even make a choice. In many parts of the world, you are denied even that. Trust the people who are in this with you...we are not all dumb, or motivated by greed....there is some room for salvation.

I'm happy just to be alive. I've been happ in much worse circumstances. My idea of choice.however, is not the idea of voting with my dollar.
