: : MS: The meat industry, as the biggest threat to the global environment
: : (after the human population) harms us all. Smoke a cigarette (as long as you're not blowing it in someones face),while stupid, is fine by me. People who choose to eat meat are harming the earth for us all.

: I guess I'll have to read the debate. I don't get how people who choose meat are harming the earth any less than people who don't fix leaky Freon systems, or people who commission forest clearcuttings, or Da Whole Geopolitical Bomb in its splendor... but I'm more concerned with healthy eating than with any "direct moral rules" that might apply to any particular meal, sure I eat meat...mmmmmmmustardgreens too...

I suggest you take a trip to the local library if you do not understand the destructiveness of the meat industry on the environment. Do you really think it is heathier to eat meat than not. Regardless of anyones moral beliefs, I still don't see why anyone would want to consume meat, as it clearly is unhealthy and unneccesary. I would suggest a thorough reading of Tim Robbins' "Diet for a new America", which details the environmental and nutricional impact of meat. Than post here again.
