McDonald's in Foregin Country's- creating economic growth or cultural assimilation

Hello,
I am a student from Canada who is doing a research paper on McDonald's in foreign countries. I was wondering if anyone had any information on the success or failure of this multinational in any country outside of the US.

I am looking for primary or secondary sources so opinions as well as info. is appreciated. IS McDONALD'S CREATING ECONOMIC GROWTH OR CULURALLY ASSIMILATING FOREIGN COUNTRIES??
