then there isn't much else to represent the workers is there ? How much do you know about unions? The chances are virtually none if you're in Texas for much of your life. I know. I lived in Vidor and Houston for ten years altogether. Unions are virtually non-existent and if they're around they're most likely AFL-CIO. If you haven't studied labor history then your missing the point with your two cents worth. Who do you feel should be controlling a union? You say you're a layman at this subject but it makes me think that you may think that a priesthood is required to run a union. It doesn't and it sure in the hell doesn't need a heirarchy.

What do you feel would make a corporation more accountable? faith or experience? That isn't a theological question. That's as real a question as the ground you walk on in Bedford, Texas. You might get a good manager at a fast food joint but how much does he have to suck up to the people above him. Getting the entire crew together is tantamount to union activity Mike. You'll get fired real quick in the state of Texas for even raising the consciousness of fellow workers. So much for accountability.

As far data processing? Well, I think they should organize for better conditions also. Do you know how many of them can be canned and turned into temporary workers at the blink of an eye? It happens all the time so if you pursue that secretarial position or become a muti-media technician I ask you to please know your rights and don't be shy about going against the grain and reading up on labor unions. You may find that democracy in the workplace isn't something that many Americans seem to cherish nowadays.
