Activism or Entertainment? Another Look at McSpotlight  
 
The McSpotlight web site has achieved celebrity status. It has drawn more praise and awards from mainstream newspapers, internet magazines, and the alternative press than any other activist web site. But despite a six-year information campaign directed against McDonald's, the multinational remains alive and well. This points to some misconceptions surrounding the internet's value to, and its impact on, activism.
