Dissent Breaks Out In Big Mac's Ranks

Discontent is simmering in some McDonald's South African outlets. The first cracks in the famous golden arches of the fast-food chain appeared when staff at McDonald's Blackheath store, in Johannesburg, walked out. News of the strike rapidly spread to Cape Town's three McDoanld's outlets, where staff members are complaining about conditions of employment. And discontent may not be confined to employees: some franchisees are said to be having trouble remaining profitable.
