       articles for the magazine.

  Q. I do not know that I think that is an answer to my
       question. Who wrote this article?
       A. This article was put together from material that has
       come into our office.

  Q. By whom?
       A. I do not know at this moment. I can check, if that is
required. I am sorry, I cannot answer.

  Q. From where did the materials from which this article was
based emanate; where did they come from?
       A. I believe some of this material has been reported in
the press; some of it may have come from that.

  Q. Is this magazine on sale to the public?
       A. It is available mainly by subscription.

  Q. At the price of £3.50?
       A. No. It is available at £17.50 a year; and some copies
are sold through a distributor and are available or can be
bought as single issue copies for at 3.50.

  Q. So if I happen to come upon this magazine at Waterloo
Station, in John Menzie's, perhaps, or Smith's, it would
cost me £3.50 to buy; is that right?
       A. Yes.

  Q. That could happen, could it?
       A. I do not think it is on sale at John Menzie's or
       Smith's.

  Q. It is available, however, to members of the public to buy,
if they should wish to read it; is that right?
       A. Yes.

  Q. Otherwise, it is available on subscription at an annual
cost of £17 and something a year?
       A. Yes. The vast majority of sales of Food Magazine are
       through subscription.

  Q. Do you recognise it as one of your responsibilities, as an
editor of a magazine which is available to be read by the
world at large, whether on subscription or at a
distribution point, to ensure that the contents of your
       magazine are accurate?
       A. Yes; as editors, that would be a responsibility.

  Q. Would you agree, Ms. Dibb, that the public has no interest
(and I mean "interest" in the strict legitimate sense) in
       receiving disinformation, has it?
       A. I am sorry. I do not understand your question. Could
       you repeat what you mean?

  Q. There is no public interest to be served by supplying the
public with false information, is there?
       A. No.

  Q. No. Do you know whether anybody at your magazine got in
