  Q. How frequently do you carry out these audits?
       A. As frequently as we feel necessary.

  Q. Can we have some idea of what that means?
       A. For instance, if I feel I am comfortable that the
supplier is at a world class level, such as the ones we
have here in the UK, or the ones, give you an example of
the US facility, we talk later this morning about Tyson,
I have been at their Tyson facilities this year or, let me
say, in the time that I have been working with McDonald's
for about three and a half years, I have been at their
       facilities probably 10 times.

  Q. Is that more regular or less regular than you would visit
       other such suppliers?
       A. It is both. It depends, that there are suppliers that
have spent a lot of time. We talked yesterday about the
plant in Costa Rica. I spent an entire year working with
them, from visiting the plants, seeing their cattle,
working with them, bringing them into Key West(?) to see
our operations, to see our Corporation, to see Hamburger
University, looking, visiting suppliers of equipment so
they have an idea of what is needed. So, it is an entire
year that I have spent just with that particular supplier.

  Q. What year was that?
       A. This year.

  Q. This year?
       A. Yes. Actually, in the last year, so that I started, we
       started the process last fall.

  Q. Do these companies allow you to have full access to the
       records that they have kept?
       A. Yes, they do. It is part of the specification that we
have the right, not only it is part, it is written in the
spec. and it is part of our agreement that we have the
right to visit a plant with an unexpected, unannounced
visit, that our policy is an open book policy, where we
look at every single record they have, including the cost
       of everything that they buy.

  Q. They would provide you with copies of anything that you
particularly wanted to look at in detail or anything like
       that?
       A. If I requested it, indeed, they have that information,
       yes, they will.

  Q. Is that part of your specifications?
       A. I said it before, yes, it is.

  Q. What kind of inspections do you make or audits do you make
       in terms of animal welfare?
       A. It is such a broad question so I am going to try to
narrow. If a facility, for instance, it could be either
for the chicken, for example, I look at the condition of
the birds, I look at the quality of the meat. The quality
of the meat will tell you a lot about the way in which the
animals were raised, they were treated. I look at the
