DAY 212
KIM MOFFATT, Examined:
after that John Nevison started we had a fire.

Q. In what part of the store was the fire?
A. It was called a corral, and that was where all the
paperwork was kept. We did not have enough room in the
store to store all the paperwork, so it was put in boxes
and kept in the corral.

MS. STEEL: What is the word?

MR. RAMPTON: Corral, like for horses in the Wild West,
C-O-R-R-A-L. (To the witness): Can you turn over to page
11 -- perhaps you are on page 11 now -- paragraph 11 on
page 5, there is a paragraph here about unions: "So far as
unions are concerned, I have never heard any talk about
them from the restaurant. I do not recall a poster of the
nature described by Beech ever being placed in the crew
room". You remember, he said there was a poster about not
joining unions in big red writing, I think he said, in his
statement. He goes on: "Very occasionally, I had crew joke
about going on strike but this has not been meant in a
serious way."

Can I ask you, Miss Moffatt, do you remember Alan Beech?
A. Yes.

Q. We are going to look at his personnel file in a moment.
Roughly speaking, during 1994, when you were the Admin
Assistant, how many hours a week were you doing?
A. Anything ranging from anything up to about 50 hours,

Q. About 50 hours a week?
A. Yes, through choice.

Q. What hours of the day were you doing?
A. Mainly 8.00 until 5.00, and -----

Q. Sorry?
A. That was what I was scheduled, 8.00 until 5.00 mainly.

Q. So that is about nine hours a day?
A. Yes.

Q. Did you do five days a week then?
A. Yes.

Q. Sometimes longer?
A. Yes. If I needed to do something, I wanted to stay on,
I would, I was allowed to.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Were you paid hourly or a salary?
A. Hourly, yes.
