                                                                  DAY 212

                                                   KIM MOFFATT, Examined:

  Q. How long, in your experience, does it take before somebody
becomes competent to do the grill on his or her own?
       A. If they are full-time, you know, it could be about a
week; if they are on buns and on dressings, you could
introduce them slowly in about a week. Obviously, if they
are part-time, it takes a bit longer.

  Q. Mr. Beech is part-time.
       A. So, I would say about three or four shifts.

  Q. Staying with Mr. Beech's additional remarks, we stopped
before at the bit about "never got a copy of the Crew
Handbook". Then it goes on -- this is on the first page
and the last quarter: "When under-17s were clocked out" --
       have you got that bit?
       A. Yes.

  Q. "...early, and their clocking in adjusted one hour back,
they would (to my knowledge) lose the additional unsocial
hours increment they were entitled to." Do you have any
       comment about that?
       A. Well, obviously, I never knew of anyone clocking anyone
out. I just did not witness it, myself.

  Q. No, because you were not there?
       A. Yes. But I could only imagine that if someone were to
work after 12 o'clock, then they would probably benefit
       more, because someone -----

MS. STEEL: Should the witness be giving evidence which is only
       imagination?

MR. RAMPTON: Probably not. Can I ask you another question,
Miss Moffatt: during the time that you worked there, were
you in any way concerned with the number of hours that
people worked and what they were getting paid for those
hours? Were you conscious of what was being recorded on
       the clock card file?
       A. Oh yes, yes.

  Q. Were you familiar with the adjustment audit reports?
       A. Yes.

  Q. Was that part of your duty?
       A. Yes; every morning I would have to check that.

  Q. Every morning?
       A. Yes.

  Q. Will you check the adjustment audit reports against the
       clock card file?
       A. I would. Basically, I would go there and check that
everyone has clocked in and clocked out for a break and
clocked in for the day; and any adjustment, you would have
a look, and excess hours and things like that you would
       have a look for.

MS. STEEL: Can you pause, please? I just want to catch up.
       (Pause) Thank you.
