                                                                  DAY 212

                                                   KIM MOFFATT, Examined:

     1 mean in this context?
2 A. It means to say that they have signed and they have
3 signed and read through and received one.
     4
5 Q. Would you tell that by looking at your orientation
     6 checklist?
     7 A. Yes.
     8
9 MR. RAMPTON: Thank you very much, Miss Moffatt. Please remain
10 there. The Defendants may cross-examine you.
    11
    12 Cross-examined by the Defendants
    13
14 MS. STEEL: When orientations are carried out, they are not
15 done with individual crew members, are they?
16 A. No. I have done them with individual crew members. It
17 depends how many people you hire.
    18
19 Q. But, generally speaking, how many people would be at a
    20 orientation session?
    21 A. Four.
    22
23 Q. What happens? You just read through or talk through the
24 various things that you have got on your checklist ---
    25 A. Yes.
    26
    27 Q. -- to the group?
    28 A. Yes.
    29
30 Q. You do not do it individually in turn with each one?
31 A. No. I will read it out and then ask them questions
32 and, if it is about pay, I will ask them about their banks,
33 and just go into different pieces but, generally, just read
    34 it out to them.
    35
36 Q. Do you specifically remember Mr. Beech's orientation
    37 session?
38 A. Not specifically Alan's, no. I remember because they
39 always similar, they are all the same.
    40
41 Q. Right. So, that is what you are basing your evidence on,
42 that he would have covered all those things and would have
43 been given a copy of the Crew Handbook etcetera, because
44 that is the standard procedure?
45 A. That is the only way I know how to do it.
    46
47 MR. JUSTICE BELL: Ms. Steel, are you going to have to take some
48 instructions? Mr. Beech is in court.
    49
50 MS. STEEL: Yes. I was just asking about one particular
    51 point.
    52
53 MR. JUSTICE BELL: No. It is just that -- it is entirely a
54 matter for you -- if you do, we will take a longer break in
55 the middle of the day, and it is a question of when we take
56 it, that is all ---
    57
58 MS. STEEL: Right. OK. Perhaps that would be a good idea.
    59
60 MR. JUSTICE BELL: -- rather than doing it as you go along.

                                      38
