     1        A.  I was a training squad, yes.

     3   Q.   If you just go through it, you started in June 1991 as
     4        full-time crew?
     5        A.  Yes, I was.
     6
     7   Q.   Then when did you move to another position?
     8        A.  What, training squad?
     9
    10   Q.   Then you were in the training squad, were you?
    11        A.  Well, I got all my stars which you do once you have
    12        been there quite a while, do OCLs.  Then I got promoted to
    13        training squad.

    15   Q.   When was that?
    16        A.  It would have been about five months after starting.

    18   Q.   Right, and then where did you go from there?
    19        A.  They kept asking me if I wanted to go on the trainee
    20        Floor Managers' course for the exam, and I kept saying,
    21         "No, I did not want it; I liked my position as I was".

    23   Q.   So did you stay in the training squad until last week?
    24        A.  Up until four weeks ago, then I got my shirt and tie as
    25        a trainee Floor Manager.

    27   MR. JUSTICE BELL:  You got your what?
    28        A.  Shirt and tie.  It is where you come out of crew
    29        uniform and go into a Manager's uniform.

    31   Q.   But you were still training as a Floor Manager?
    32        A.  Yes, I was still training then, yes.  That is when my
    33        training began.

    35   Q.   So you floated in and out of trainee Floor Manager and
    36        training squad?
    37        A.  Yes, I was always a training squad but I just, like --
    38        they kept asking me for promotion and that, but I kept
    39        saying no.

    41   Q.   Let me just make my note.  Did you go on any of the
    42        courses?
    43        A.  No, I did not.

    45   MS. STEEL:   Basically, the position is -- tell me if I am wrong
    46        because I am finding it quite hard to follow this -- that
    47        you were in the training squad?
    48        A.  Yes.

    50   Q.   You were not a Floor Manager? 
    51        A.  No.

    53   Q.   Until four weeks ago?
    54        A.  No, I passed the exam last week which made me a Floor
    55        Manager four weeks before I started my training to revise
    56        for the exam.

    58   Q.   Prior to that, you had not been a Floor Manager or a
    59        trainee Floor Manager or a trainee Manager; you had been in
    60        the training squad?
