DAY 213
SEMIR KHAZNA, Cross-examined:
while those people were being trained?
A. The 25 to 30 staff we had at Heathrow for Feltham, some
were part-time and some were full-time; so I would not say
there was twice the amount of people at the time, no.

Q. But when they were being trained, are you saying that they
were they never worked any station on their own, they
always be just like -----
A. There would be someone with them.

Q. There would be someone with them the whole time?
A. With the Feltham crew, yes, getting trained.

Q. That is what the Company considers to be good practice, is
it, that people who are being trained should have a "buddy"
with them the whole time?
A. Well, any new starter, we "buddy" them up, obviously,
for safety reasons in the restaurant.

Q. How long does that normally go on for, that they have a
"buddy" with them?
A. Until they are confident that they have they have
passed the OCL, which is an observation checklist, the
tools that we use in the restaurants.

Q. That is on each station?
A. There is one for each station, yes.

Q. When they have passed that, they would get on with it on
their own?
A. After they pass the OCL and they answer the questions
correctly, that we are fully confident that they can run
that station 100 per cent.

Q. Did that happen to some of these people who you say were
being trained up for Feltham, or for the whole of the time
that they were at the Heathrow store, did they have a
"buddy" with them?
A. The Feltham crew, they had the Managers of Feltham and
training squad training them up.

Q. So, none of them took any OCLs until they moved to the
Feltham store; is that what you are saying?
A. Sorry, can you make your question a bit clearer?

Q. None of these people who you say were being trained up at
the Heathrow store for the Feltham store passed any OCLs
before they were transferred to the Feltham store?
A. The ones that went over to Feltham had OCLs done on
them, yes.

Q. But at any time in the Heathrow store, were they left
working on their own on a station after passing OCLs?
A. For a short period of time, yes.

Q. In which case, did that mean that less of the Heathrow
staff were being employed or that they had to work less
hours?
A. No.
