DAY 213
SEMIR KHAZNA, Cross-examined:
as much as possible. (To the witness) It is been assumed
-- and I am certainly assuming it -- that these particular
employees have been identified this particular week because
they are due a pay review; yes?
A. Yes.

Q. Therefore, it is a way of reminding the Managers when the
pay review is due?
A. That is one way of reminding them, yes.

Q. That is correct, is it?
A. If it is -----

Q. I am asking you, as a Supervisor?
A. I have seen this report, but I do not use this report.
I do not deal with when the crew should get pay rises.
That is down to the store management level. I would deal
with the salaried management.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: It seems to me that this witness cannot help,
but I am sure sooner or later someone will.

MR. MORRIS: When you monitor the situation of a store that has
problems, basically, you do not really deal with whether
crew are getting adequate wages and that kind of stuff?
A. I do that when I get the reports on the training or the
HR audits; that would tell me if people are getting pay
rises or having their PRs on time. These audits are copied
to me.

Q. When an official audit is done?
A. Well, the HR audits normally were complete.

Q. What is HR?
A. Human Resources audit.

Q. Human Resources audit. So it is not something that
concerns you unless you have information from somebody
else, that you should actually look through available
documents in a store to check if people are getting the
wages that they are due; that is something that someone
else deals with?
A. The reports are done and they are copied to me, and
I do follow up on it. We normally get these reports on a
monthly basis.

Q. You get them on a monthly basis?
A. The HR audit.

Q. What action did you take -- I mean, it looks from these
documents, if we look at 52 ---
A. Yes.

Q. -- out of, for example -- I just picked this at random --
something like 15 or 16 people, only five got a pay review,
of which two got a nought pence rise ---

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Well ------

MR. MORRIS: -- two got a 10 pence rise, and one got a 35 pence
