                                                                  DAY 213

                                            SEMIR KHAZNA, Cross-examined:

for me any more. I have got other jobs I prefer to go to
       that pay lower wages"?
       A. No, after 15 years I started, like I said, before I was
21 and I am 15 years on and I am still enjoying the job
       enough to carry on.

  Q. You have to be a special kind of person to want to stay at
McDonald's for that length of time?
       A. There is quite a lot of people that I know that have
been with the Company a long time, crew and Managers.

  Q. Got to really live McDonald's?
       A. No, I do have a social life outside of work.

  Q. You lose touch with reality about what is going on in the
       rest of the world?
       A. No, not at all. Actually, I will be travelling the
       world this year.

  Q. You said you had a problem of under-staffing and retaining
staff at this store. You went down there to sort it out.
You told the Manager he has to go to the Job Centre and get
some recruitment going. Did you tell him how he would get
people into his store, who should he recruit?
       A. Just -- he is recruiting staff for the restaurant.

  Q. He is having problems, you are saying he is having
       problems?
       A. That is right.

  Q. So did you say: "Well, young people want to work at our
       store" or -----
       A. We advertise, we advertise, we not put an age on who we
hire. The Job Centre is across the road. You know, after
sitting there with John Nevison, I put an evaluation
saying, you know: "Keep in touch with the Job Centre on a
weekly basis. Keep the application forms in the store".
I gave him other advice like: "People do come into the
restaurant; hire on the spot. You know, people do come in
and ask for a job, you know, spend five minutes of your
       time, speak to them".

  Q. Two-thirds of them that come in would tend to be people
that are under 21; even though you are saying you recruit
from the whole working population, two-thirds of the people
that come in and make inquiries will be under 21?
       A. If that is what you are saying, I mean, that is the
       feeling you got.

  Q. It seems anybody with any experience who is older and wiser
for some reason does not want to work at McDonald's?
       A. Well, the reason why you are probably getting the 18s
and the 19s and the 20s is because they are students, and
if you are talking percentages, a high percentage of the
students are, you know, around that age bracket. You do
not get students that are, you know, 50 and 60.

  Q. We have nearly finished now.

MS. STEEL: When people are transferred, are they taken to
