                                                                  DAY 213

                                            SEMIR KHAZNA, Cross-examined:

  Q. But during the whole of that time when he remained on the
payroll he did not -- he was not registered as working any
       hours at all?
       A. He was on the Feltham payroll.

  Q. Right. Then, in fact, I think he disappears completely
from the payroll by August. You do not know why that would
       be?
       A. Could have left.

MR. MORRIS: I think I have three further questions.

You say in your paragraph 8 on page 4 of your statement:
"It appeared that John Nevison had not been terminating
employees from the payroll when they left in order to hide
the true extent of the understaffing," and that is
something that any store could do?
       A. Sorry, which paragraph is it?

  Q. Sorry, it is at the top of page 4. It is the second full
sentence. That is a technique for hiding understaffing?
       A. This was the case here, yes.

  Q. Yes. It is not immediately obvious unless you do detailed
inquiries that this was going on?
       A. Not unless you check the payroll summary and if there
is too many zeros appearing week after week, then you would
know that they are not being taken off.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Might that be the explanation of what
       happened here?
       A. Sorry?

  Q. Might that be the explanation of what happened here, all
those noughts still on the Heathrow payroll? I mean, can
       you remember now?
       A. Some of those names are on Feltham's payroll, but, yes,
this could be the -- why these zeros are appearing because
he was not terminating the people.

  Q. Just pause a moment. Yes?

MR. MORRIS: When you check the scheduling you say that there is
an excess hours sheet as well; is that correct? Do you
have the ability to print out an excess hours sheet?
       A. Well -----

  Q. In any store?
       A. I get my own reports on the stores I have got telling
       me the excess hours, yes.

  Q. Right. That is not the same as people not working to their
       schedule?
       A. It would just -- the report that I get, it just tells
me if X amount of people are working over X amount of
hours. I would get that report, yes.

  Q. Right. Presumably, the more people that are working excess
hours in general, the more that is an indication that the
