                                                                  DAY 214

                                                 DAVID ROBERTS, Examined:

  Q. I think the point which may be being suggested is, you have
to adjust it, but if you forget to adjust it the clam shell
does not come right down on top of the regular burger and,
therefore, although it stays there for what should be the
requisite period, it does not get fully cooked. Do you
       understand?
       A. That is correct.

  Q. Now, we will hear from Mr. Beech in due course; but with
your help explaining about settings, that occurs to me may
be what the Mr. Beech is going to say. Do you see?
       A. On the grill that was like directly north of "prep
table", that was actually being used for regulars, so there
was no need to use the other one for regulars.

MR. RAMPTON: That is what I was going to ask. Now, about these
four grills, were they dedicated to particular products?
You have just said that the one -- or the two on the left,
       is it?
       A. If we put numbers, the one above flat is -----

  Q. Since they can be independently operated, can we
       assume -----
       A. You can have four numbers for them and then -----

  Q. Can we say there are four?
       A. Yes.

  Q. If you start at the left and put 1, and then you go to the
next two to the right, 2, moving eastwards, and then 3, and
4 is the most easterly; yes?
       A. Yes.

  MR. MORRIS: Easterly?

MR. RAMPTON: Yes, to the right -- assuming that north is the
top of the map, which I do not, but it helps explain it.

(To the witness) Now, was there any of those -- I think
you have already said it, but we will have it again so we
all understand it -- any of those four grills that were
regularly or habitually dedicated to particular products?
       A. 1 and 2 were regular for regular meat.

  Q. So if I write "regular" on top of those two. Were they
       ever used for quarters?
       A. No.

  Q. No.
       A. They could be, but they were not.

  Q. Which ones were used for sausage in the morning?
       A. 3 and 4.

  Q. 3 and 4. The quarters, where were they cooked?
       A. Quarters were cooked on 3 and 4 after breakfast.

  Q. If the sausage is thinner than the quarter -- is it?
       A. The sausage is much thinner, yes.
