DAY 214
DAVID ROBERTS, Cross-examined:
that at all.

Q. You said this morning about the gap in the Accident Book;
that was while you were the Manager, was it not, at least
some of it -----
A. Some of it, I think, yes.

Q. Yes. You said you did not know for a fact but you presume
there was another book. So, you never checked the Accident
Books as Manager at the store?
A. Not at that time, no, not when I took over the
restaurant.

Q. You were too busy sorting out, getting enough staff to
serve all the customers?
A. And other things as well.

Q. While you were Manager of the store, I think Miss Moffatt
said about the paperwork being stored in the corral?
A. Yes, there was originally a corral near the store
itself.

Q. It is not there any more then?
A. It was not there when I took over.

Q. It was not there when you took over?
A. No. We had an extension built on the back of the store
while I was there to replace it, but it was not there when
I took over.

Q. OK. Was that because of it burning down?
A. Yes, it was, like, I do not know what they put in there
but, in my experience of the stores I have had, we put in
equipment and maybe like a compactor and certain, you know,
paperwork because we were quite limited for space in the
restaurant itself. We had to have a rubbish area, so we
built an extension on the back of the store to replace
that.

Q. So that is not at all unusual, this practice of having a
corral and storing paperwork out there?
A. The corral is -- it is like a -- it is just a wall, an
outer wall, but inside you will have, half of it will be a
sealed room, whether it be a metal room or whatever, so it
is quite safe, because you are restricted on room. You
know, you would have to put stuff in there.

Q. But to answer the question, that is not an unusual
practice?
A. No, that is a common practice.

Q. When you say there is a wall, how high is the wall?
A. 12 feet. I do not know about that one because I never
saw it, but normally they are about 12 feet.

Q. Then you say there is a little room inside it?
A. It is either part of the actual wall itself, it will be
brick, a solid room, but then with just a wall going on the
outside like with an open area, or some of them, they have
the outer wall and then maybe a metal, sort of, container,
