1 assistance. I will not call on you to cross-examine until
2 10.30 tomorrow at the earliest.
     3
     4 MR. RAMPTON: Yes.
     5 (Luncheon adjournment)
     6
7 TERENCE EDMUND CARROLL, Called and Sworn,
8 Examined by MR. RAMPTON QC.
     9
10 MR. RAMPTON: Mr. Carroll, could I ask you, please, to fetch
11 from the shelves behind you three files. Perhaps Mr. Riley
12 can help you. One is a yellow one, number 2 marked
13 "Publication". The next is a pink one also marked
14 "Publication Volume 2". The last one is a fat one called
15 "Second Plaintiffs' List of Documents Counterclaim". It
16 has a white label with a pink border on the top shelf. The
17 two partly pink ones can be left on the side there, and we
18 are just looking at the yellow one to start with.
    19
20 Could you turn, please, to tab 2 of that yellow file where
21 I hope you will find a document with your name on it; is
    22 that right?
    23 A. Yes, my Lord.
    24
25 Q. At the end on page 5, before you get to the appendices ----
    26
27 MR. MORRIS: Sorry, which bundle?
    28
29 MR. RAMPTON: The yellow 2 file, the witness bundle.
    30
31 MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes, that is right. The first one in divider
    32 2.
    33
34 MR. MORRIS: The first divider 2? Mine starts at page 13.
    35
36 MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes, that is right.
    37
38 MS. STEEL: So does mine.
    39
40 MR. RAMPTON: The page number at the top that I ask you to look
41 at now is 5. There is a signature halfway down the page
42 with a date 2nd June 1993. Is that your signature?
    43 A. It is.
    44
45 Q. Can you turn to the next tab, please, tab 3, again a
46 document with your name at the top. I do not know if your
47 copy is signed. It is a short document, one and a bit
48 pages. Is your copy signed?
49 A. It is not, no.
    50
51 Q. Can you just glance at it. It has a type written date of
    52 21st April 1994? Mine has anyway.
    53 A. Yes.
    54
55 Q. Is that a statement made by you for the purpose of this
    56 these proceedings?
    57 A. It is.
    58
59 Q. Was the first document also a statement made in these
    60 proceedings?

                                      37
