Pausing there, during the course of this demonstration it
seems to have lasted about 2 and a half hours, where were
       you stationed yourself personally?
       A. In the immediate vicinity of the building. I think was
on the top of the steps for most of the time leading to the
       old entrance.

  Q. So outside the building?
       A. Yes.

  Q. How close to the demonstrators?
       A. As near as I am to you.

  Q. Was there any sort of cosily back chat between you and the
demonstrators on this occasion or not?
       A. I think there was a bit of repartee at one time or
       another.

  Q. Repartee. That is the word I was looking for, thank you.
Can you, please, pick up the thinner pink file, publication
2, and turn to tab 5. If you look at, for example, the
first 2 or 3 photographs only. You can glance through the
whole lot. There are in all 28 prints in this file.
       A. Yes, I have it.

  Q. These have been indexed as the photographs taken on the
16th October 1989; is that correct?
       A. That is correct.

  Q. If you look at the paragraph, there is no controversy about
this, Mr. Carroll. Ms. Steel accepts she was present
during this demonstration. If you look at the second
photograph, which is the lower one on the first page, can
you see Ms. Steel in that photograph?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I think it is obvious but they are exactly
the same as TEC1, the black and white reproductions, are
       they not?

  MR. RAMPTON: Yes, they are.

MS. STEEL: They are in a slightly different order.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Are they the same photographs?

  MS. STEEL: They are, yes.

MR. RAMPTON: The one I am looking at is in the same position in
black and white and in colour, which is the second one on
the first page. Can you see Ms. Steel in that photograph?
       A. I can, yes, Mr. Rampton.

  Q. Where is she in that photograph?
       A. She is holding the Greenpeace banner on its left as you
       look at it.

  Q. In the middle of the picture?
       A. Yes.
