                                                                  Day 236

                                        TERENCE EDMUND CARROLL - EXAMINED

       A. It is a member of the company. He is in the
construction department. I cannot remember his name at the
       moment.

  Q. Was he coming from the direction of the office of that
       forecourt?
       A. Yes.

  Q. Then he went back again, as we saw in the video?
       A. Yes.

  Q. Does that bear any resemblance to the process that you
described as having happened in October 1989 when members
of your staff collected copies of the leaflet complained of
       in this case?
       A. Yes, it does.

(Video film continued to be played)

  Q. Mr. Carroll, is that the video of the 16th October 1982?
       A. It is, my Lord.

  Q. It is. Thank you.

                        (Video film played)

  Q. Mr. Carroll, is that the video recording of the
       demonstration on 16th October 1993?
       A. It is, my Lord.

  Q. That concludes Mr. Carroll's evidence-in-chief.

  MR. JUSTICE BELL: Thank you.

MR. RAMPTON: I have been given by Mrs. Brinley-Codd, if your
Lordship has got the first document in TEC5 -- may
       Mr. Carroll be released?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: You had better stay where you are.

MR. RAMPTON: The first document which is the "What is wrong
with McDonald's?", the words complained of in 1989 written
on it, I have been given the original of that. I can tell
it is the original because it is has "1989" written on it.
It also has hole punches insist in it which is reflected in
the copy we have got as black blobs on the side of the page
and it is in an envelope with a label on it in
       Mrs. Brinley-Codd's writing saying "16.10.89", I observe,
because everybody ought to see that. That is in addition
to the one which Mr. Carroll has already identified.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Could I just have a look?

MR. RAMPTON: Yes, I am sorry (Handed).

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Do you want to ask Mr. Carroll about that for
completeness? There is no need for him to go back into the
witness box if he keeps his voice up.

MR. RAMPTON: Mr. Carroll, can you remember what his Lordship
