Day 236
TERENCE EDMUND CARROLL - EXAMINED
said about speaking loudly and I will try and remember
too. That label on the outside of the plastic envelope is
not, I think, in your handwriting; is that right?
A. No, it is not, my Lord.

Q. You have already told us that the writing at the top of the
document is not your handwriting?
A. No.

Q. Can you extract the document from its envelope. Can you
tell us whether or not that, as far as you know, is one of
the leaflets collected on that date, 16th October 1989?
A. As far as I can tell it is, my Lord.

Q. Thank you. We also have in court, I think, I will be
corrected if I am wrong, the originals now of all of
Mr. Carroll's exhibits. There is doubt about one of them,
which looks to me as though it is a photocopy but with
Mrs. Brinley-Codd's blue handwriting on it which is the one
for 21st May 1991 which she says is what she would have got
from McDonald's, but all the others are as gathered at the
time, I am instructed, or at least as received by her at
the time.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes. We will adjourn now.

MR. MORRIS: Can we clarify the situation through the court with
the original documents that we have asked for, the
originals of all the publication documents, to look at
overnight tonight and ask what is the situation is?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Which documents are you referring to?

MR. MORRIS: All the originals of all the relevant documents on
publication, including the counterclaim file.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Those are the ones which you can go to
Barlows to inspect.

MR. MORRIS: We asked them 3 weeks ago to get them ready for
us. We said that we wanted to view them and then we asked
last night if they could be bought to court and we repeat
that request today.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Where were you going to look at them?

MR. MORRIS: We were going to take them home if they were here.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Not the original exhibits or documents.

MS. STEEL: If we had been given the time, I would have gone to
Barlow's offices to look at them but we have not been given
the time.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I dealt with that this morning. You can look
now at the TEC documents. You must start your
cross-examination at 10.30 in the morning. If you go to
Barlows in due course and look at any other documents, and
can demonstrate to me that you need to ask Mr. Carroll
further questions about any documents in the future, then
