Day 237 - 18 04 96 - Page 14

       A. I think I might have done, yes.

  Q. What instructions did you give to the people who were
       taking photographs and videos?
       A. Take some photographs and some videos.

  Q. What about specifically on 16th October, 1989?
       A. It would be more or less the same thing.

  Q. Just, "Get out there and get some photographs"?
       A. More or less, yes -- probably not quite as bluntly as
       that.

  Q. If they took photographs of trees and traffic, you would
       have been happy?
       A. No. "Take photographs of the demonstration".

  Q. What was the purpose of taking the photographs?
       A. More or less the same as why I asked for photographs to
be taken of demonstrations outside restaurants throughout
the country, to see if we could identify a common thread.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Could someone explain to me divider 6, while
Ms. Steel is thinking about her next questions, because
       the -----

MR. RAMPTON: I think those are photographs disclosed by the
       Defendants.

MS. STEEL: Yes, they are. I actually have some better copies
       with me.

MR. RAMPTON: I have ignored them because ------

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Could I just have a look at them?

MS. STEEL: Although, having said that, they are not
particularly good. If you want to look at the originals?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I would just like to -- this is assuming you
are content I should see them. They are in the bundles, so
       I assume that the -----

MS. STEEL: Yes, I mean, I have a slightly better photocopy.
I have to finish sorting them out.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Let me just look for a moment and then we can
think about whether better copies are required. (Same
       handed to the learned Judge).

MS. STEEL: They are not very good photographs even if one has
       the photographs themselves. (Pause).

  MR. JUSTICE BELL: Thank you.

MR. RAMPTON: Could I see them, please? (Handed)

MS. STEEL: Was also a purpose for taking the photographs that
you were considering taking legal action against people
       involved with London Greenpeace?
