Day 237 - 18 04 96 - Page 23

       A. I do not think so. Mr. Nicholson did not come down at
the start of the meeting. He came down later and he would
       have moved around much more.

  Q. So he was moving round, do you remember what time he came
       out, roughly?
       A. No, some time during the course of the demonstration.

  Q. Do you remember how long he stayed out?
       A. No, I did not see him going.

  Q. You did not see him going. How many times did you see him?
       A. He was there for a period of time and while he was
there I saw him; when he was not there, I did not.

  Q. How many times do you remember seeing him?
       A. I cannot give you an answer to that one. He was just
present for a period there and then he was not. It was not
a question of seeing him and then looking away and then
       seeing him again.

  Q. So you do not have any recollection of him being there for
       long periods of time?
       A. I would not like to say. He might have been there for
20 minutes, it might have been half an hour, it might have
been five minutes, but he was certainly there.

  Q. You do not have any recollection of him being there for a
       considerable period of time?
       A. I do not remember him being there for the whole of the
demonstration, he certainly was not. He was there for a
       part of it.

  Q. You are not in a position to say then how long he was
there, you just do not remember?
       A. That is correct.

  Q. Do you remember ever speaking to him while he was outside?
       A. I do not think I did. I had a different role that day.

  Q. Different?
       A. I was there concerned about the fabric of the building
and the possible problems arising from the demonstration.

  Q. So that was why you turned the security cameras off, was
       it?
       A. I did not turn the security cameras off.

  Q. That is why you did not put them on?
       A. Correct.

  Q. Whereas what was Mr. Nicholson's purpose then?
       A. You have to ask Mr. Nicholson that.

  Q. How do you know you had a different purpose to him?
       A. I do not.

  Q. You just said you did.
       A. I know what my purpose was there; you will have to ask
Mr. Nicholson what his purpose was.
