: Listen mate I dont know what kind of stupid party line shit your on that you cant see the reality that a dictator is massacring people because they dont fit his racial code and someone has had to demonstrate that civilisation wont accept this!!!

SDF: I'm not sure that the current regime of bombs is going to stop the ethnic cleansing/ massacres in Kosovo. By the time they figure out that bombing doesn't make dictators "cry uncle" (i.e. by the time they review the numerous historical examples of where it hasn't done so), this dictator will be finished with his dirty work, and they all die unhappily ever after.

I'm not sure we can do anything about it either. As an American, I recognize that Clinton has bypassed the Congressional declaration of war required by our Constitution both in Iraq and in Kosovo (and he did it in Iraq presumably to avoid public opinion, since he was embarrassed by such input in a public meeting in Columbus Ohio). My reaction to Clinton's low regard for the Constitution is that I have little input in the behavior of my government in these wars.

If we had respected the Constitution, the current bombing-attack against Yugoslavia might be prefaced by a serious debate of the merits of bombing, diplomacy, UN intervention, NATO intervention, troop invasion, the debacle with Bosnia, the debacle with the ethnic cleansing of Serbs from Croatia, and the general application of the principle of nonviolence to the situation as a whole. Somehow I feel that this possibility, like the possibility of a peaceful solution, has been lost.

: I fucking hate this every time NATO does anything there's always some TROT somewhere trying to scream conspiracy!! NATO play the whole "big boys rules" game that's true and they are protecting powerful interests but have anyone considered the alternative? A life under serbian National Socialism??!! Or the next big state freak??!!

SDF: The problem is that numerous peaceful alternatives to the current mess are being abolished as we speak. They Pentagon talks about continuing the bombing through the summer, so perhaps the Serbs are ethnically-cleansing according to some timetable. The more I read arguments about the current situation both for and against warfare, the less I find useful.

: SUPPORT THE KLA.

SDF: How trustworthy are they? Would they ethnically-cleanse Kosovo of Serbs? Do they distinguish between justice and revenge?
