: : Or - as Max Stirner put it:

: : "I secure my freedom with regard to the world in the degree that I make the world my own, 'gain it and take possession of it' for myself, by whatever might, be that of persuasion, of petition, of categorical demand, yes, even by hypocrisy, cheating, etc.; for the means that I use for it are determined by what I am. Property is what is mine."

: SDF: What a great quote! Could you refer to a text & a page number?
Daniel Gurin's anarchist anthology "No God's, No Masters" includes good extracts from Stirners "Ego and It's Own", which I think this is an extract from, it also has good follow ups from Proudhon and Kropotkin which are insteresting the only drag is the sections by Bakunin are a bit boring and there is a sectarian polemic between the "pure" anarchists and an advocate of Motley Socialism ("both mutualist and marxist") which just demonstrates that bad habits like back biting and fueding die hard.
