: Genesis 9:1-4

: 3
: Everything that lives and moves will be food for you. Just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything.

1. In the New Testament, Jesus says that the old jewish laws (i.e the Old Testament which includes Gensis) are "useless" and that he came to replace them all with ONE law: love God.

2. The Old Testament was written for jews. Are you jewish?

3. I don't see anything in your chosen verses that gives us the right to torture animals in mass numbers daily which is what the meat industry is doing. God says throughout the Old Testament that we are to live in fear of Him also - calls himself the God of Terror. He bestows suffering upon us because of his dipleasure with us. He explains that this is so we will behave correctly. Are we displeased with the behavior of the animals that we eat? What are they doing wrong that we need to treat them so badly. God's role as punisher goes hand in hand with his role as parent. He is responsible for our well being. The range of freedom he gives us over animals quite clearly endows us with a responsibility to them. This is the theologically accepted context of terms like "fear" and "dread" in the Bible, and you would understand this better if you read the whole Bible and studied some theology. Any argument to the contrary makes the God of the Bible nothing more than a ranting lunatic with no real concern for anything and is the very last person (god) we should be taking instruction from. I accept this latter interpretation as well.

4. Most of the meat that is commoercially available to us DOES still have blood in it. Someone help me out here - is it 40% blood, 30% blood?

5. The Bible, especially as we know it today, has been purged, rewritten, hijacked, and tampered with in every imaginable way. To know the history of this book is know that it can be taken with only a grain of salt. In other words, as a moral framework, its bullshit, and everyone that can THINK knows this.
