: Hi I'm doing a report for high school on how important it is to raise the high school drop out age. There any to many reasons to name why to stay in high school but I was looking for an opposing opinoin and trying to find the jobs available to thode who have dropped out.

Raise the age limit you say?
This country wasn't founded on ALL book-smart, school-following people. Next, let's look at our presidents - we've got Abe Lincoln who learned the majority of his knowledge through books, which he read out of his OWN WILL. Then, we have Bill Clinton, whom is a total screw up, and has gone through the same - and more - education than most people. It looks to me like Abe did a better job.

You're telling me we should RAISE the age for people who want to get out of that dreaded place? Ha! If they want to drop out, let them. In fact, most of the education in this country is horrible - it's nothing more than a pathetic social scene for teens, in which they are forced to attend. In all actuality, there are a ton of people who could do better jobs than actual highschool graduates, because they are smarter and have common sense, something which is apparently missing nowadays in the majority of the U.S. citizens.

Let's all HAVE to go to school, let's all have to sit in a chair for 7 hours, let's all learn things we do not care, nor need knowledge about, let's all have blonde hair, blue eyes, and brown shirts! How about we just go all the way? I'm tired of being force-fed this garbage YOU call education. I don't enjoy this, and I should have a choice. This is America, "home of the free" - we should have a choice, and it sure doesn't look like we've got one.

What is the punishment again? I forget. Oh yes, I think I remember -- It is that, if the child doesn't go to school, the parent is fined, even though it is THEIR child and THEIR responsibility. If the parent refuses to pay this money they are sent to jail. They don't pass go, they don't get an arguement, they don't get 200 dollars - they are sent directly to jail. You want to tell me this is a free country?
Please explain.
