Hey, that's all fine and good and everything... I just have a hard time understanding why someone would be proud of these accomplishments. The gist of what you said is: "My family has had a reasonably large helping hand in the deforestation of planet Earth, aiding immensely in the ultimite extinction of mankind by both depleting our oxygen supply and destroying tons of resources which could have been used to better ends." For all intents and purposes, every flesh patty your family served up could have been better used to feed people who actually need food. Understanding absolute poverty is impossible for you (and all others with consumerist mentalities). It makes me sick to know that it isn't just Americans who suffer from this disease; our greedy corporations have dug their claws into all four corners of the Earth and are basically holding it hostage in puruit of the elusive "profit". Despite what T-shirt slogans might profess, he who dies with the most toys does not win. We are all going to die sooner or later, it is inevitable. Why not try and leave a better world for those who follow? Why should our children, grandchildren, etc. be forced to live in our sewage just because Big Business wants to make money? If every singe employee at every McDonald's absolutely adored their jobs, it would not even begin to make up for the devastation they are causing our planet. Do you understand how completely insignificant you are? Your brother is? Within fifty or so years, you will both be dead. Then what? Exactly where will your "great experiences" at McDonald's have gotten you? The grave, baby. That's it. You say someone gained "self esteem" from their promotion at McDonald's. My, my, my... that's just great. And I'm sure it's going to make a big fat load of difference when her flesh is rotting like the flesh of the animals she helped destroy. Am I being a jerk? Perhaps. Is this the wrong way of getting my message across? Perhaps. But people in general are so incredibly stupid that sometimes the only way to make them realize how stupid they are is to smack them in the face with reality. You can go on pretending like everything's just fine, but I hope that after reading this you know the truth.
