HOT OFF THE PRESSES! My veterinarian just received a response back from Proctor and Gamble about this issue. P&G states that their product is safe for cats, dogs and birds (just don't spray them directly). The main ingredient is modified starch from corn (corn starch). Yes, there is zinc chloride which is also a common ingredient in eye drops, mouthwash and yes, pet food! As an example of how harmless zinc chloride is P&G sited this: If a dog were to consume 1oz of Febreeze, it would still be getting less than 1/10 of zinc chloride than what it would get in it's pet food. This information was all passed along to me from my veterinarian. My feeling is, if in doubt, don't use it!!!
