Qx: Apparently, you're not drawing much of a distinction between us and Trotskyites.

DT: That's right. Your introductory blurb reads the same as all the other workers revolutionary blurb. And because of that it's instant turn off time. Us workers don't want to hear regurgitated dialectic, we want real and workable solutions. You aren't user friendly enough !

Qx: Well, well. If it ain't the cyber mind of a sycophant at work with that garbled diatribe.

DT: And while we're at it, sorry us plebs aren't on the same intellectual tangent as yourselves way up there. Unfortunately, the only thing we have to base our opinions on are - gasp - our experiences - which obviously count for nothing, unless we can quote this politician, and that philosopher.

Qx: Apparently you're doing quite well when McD's Damage Control lends a helping hand.

DT: You see, that's the problem. We are just run of the mill, bog standard workers.

Qx: Maybe you are and than again maybe you're not. I tend to be on the doubting side.

DT: We aren't as well versed in all the historical stuff as you folks at the IWW are.

Qx: And it shows. If you don't know the past you're bound to repeat it right? Welcome to the fin-de-siecle summer repeats courtesy of the Droll Trolls.

DT:It's certainly very true that some people are more equal than others isn't it ?

Qx: That comes from George Orwell's ANIMAL FARM eh? Then you should remember that Orwell fought on the anarchist side in the Spanish Civil War and would probably take offense at a corporate sycophant using his words to further the cause of profit-mongering.

DT: Oh please, glorious beings at IWW, toss us a few morsels of your vast knowledge and we will be eternally grateful.

Qx: No. Go do it yourself. We're a do-it-yourself kind of union. Something you don't seem to have noticed yet.

DT: What was that someone said, knowledge is power ? And WHO'S wielding the big stick now then ? If your organisation can't take criticism from those at the bottom of the heap (the people you claim to support) , basing their opinions on their day to day experiences, then you are as contemptible as the very organisations you oppose.

Qx: It looks like I could be sparring with a scissorbill who claims to be at the bottom of the heap while defending McD's (who would like them to stay there). Accusations such yours seem to be craftily honed. Sorry but no cigar with your smoke and mirrors attempt.

DT: Please tell us the nuts and bolts of HOW you expect your theories and ideas to be put into practice in 1998. We never said the workplace was a fair and equal environment. But if you have REAL solutions and can convince us they WILL work, we'll be impressed, and you'll have yourself two more converts. You see, at the moment, we are slightly pissed off that you are putting more energy into slagging off our opinions, than instead trying to convince why yours are a better alternative.

Qx: As I typed out before. Go and read for yourself. As a matter of fact you should be even more ticked off at yourself for trying to convince us that you're really more than one person and if you can type this uch you certainly should be able to read much, much more.

DT: And finally, we also know our turf well.

Qx: Go ahead and learn even better now that you're almost through with this posting.

DT: We work for a large organisation

Qx: McDonald's? So what? So do many others. Anyways...on with the self-deluding pronouncements.

DT:....and can speak about our experiences within it with quite a bit of authority.

Qx: Ooooh...authority you speak with here eh? How about some humility for starts next time? With the knowing that the people who work in the fastfood industry don't necessarily want authority from some bunch calling themselves the Dolly Trollys or whatever you call yourselves and would probably liked to be respected as equals and Fellow Workers. Soemthing you don't seem to promote. Know that authority is to be questioned at all times.

DT: What do you do for a living ?

Qx: Fully intent on using Internet communications as a tool for personalized attacks aren't you? That's my suspicion. Especially when typed out by what could most likely be a fictional weave purporting to be genuinely interested in McD's workers but ending up reading like an attempt at public relations spin for a certain multinational.
