The reason Jim was sent to prison in the first place is because a reporter from the Charlotte Observer was digging up dirt on him because of his affair with Jessica Hahn. Jim Baker was getting money for an amusment type resort, sorta like Disney Land for Christians. The money was supposed to be used for Condominiums at the resort, but Jim was selling more than he had. None.
