Working nine hours straight does sound a bit excessive

Working nine hours straight does sound a bit excessive - in fact, it's illegal. I doubt the entire shift was so busy they couldn't have spared one crew member, and even if it was, they should have let you go on your break. It's not only the employee who suffers without adequate breaks, but the customers as well. I just finished a VERY busy shift from 3am to 2pm. By 12 noon without a break I was biting the customers' heads off, and saying all the things I usually think but never actually speak. When you've been up since one in the morning with no sleep, some woman complaining about not getting the right happy meal toy is just too much to handle! Luckily, the managers saw how volatile I was getting and let me have a break. Perhaps if you get nasty they'll realise they need to let you take your break and give it to you. Just a suggestion from a sympathetic fellow employee.
