NEW YORK - As McDonald's Corp top management seeks to jump start same-store sales, changes are being ordered ranging from making sure burgers are not overcooked to taking some salt out of the ketchup, The Wall Street Journal reported Monday.

For the Arch Deluxe, the company is even scrapping its practice of putting the lettuce and tomato into the microwave along with the burger, the story says.

McDonald's own research shows it is lagging behind Wendy's and Burger King in delivering the best tasting burgers, the story says.
