: Here’s a little test I’d like you all to take. Please study the following list of personality attributes then answer the question that follows:

: 1) Subject has one group of friends that he spends most of his time with
: 2) Subject listens to alternative music
: 3) Subject wears unusual clothes, jewelry, or makeup

: Question: When applied to teenage American males, the above attributes are warning signs of which of the following:

: a) Subject is a born loser one step away from committing mass murder with an arsenal of high powered firearms and homemade propane bombs

: b) Subject is responding in a relatively healthy and highly predictable manner to a complex modern environment.

:
: What did you pick? According to our mainstream media, the consensus among our revered “experts” such as law enforcement professionals, child psychologists, and high school counselors is choice (a).

: Let’s face it people……we’re fucked.

: So, until that fateful day arrives when half of us are used to shackle the other half to the inside of railroad cars to be hauled off to labor camps, here’s another list of warning signs to ponder:

: Warning signs that your teenager might still be a functional human being capable of independent thought:

: ? Subject doesn’t blindly accept everything he's told
: ? Subject doesn’t enjoy chronic emotional abuse and wholesale rejection from a mandatory, prearranged peer group o

Dear subject:

Sadly, what you write has a ring of truth to it. So, why do we continue on?
Why have humans reproduced for thousands of years. Don't think it was for the pure joy of sex. Don't give up just yet. There are too many unanswered questions.

I remember thinking during my college years that all higher education was only good because it taught you that there were places to look for the answers to questions.

I find life interesting because I am still looking and curious.
Some of the answers make on proud and in awe of the life and times we are in just now.

I am not happy with the world's family units just now. They seem to be losing their values. But, I am positive that a VAST number of humanity are good people. Damn the small number who make life terrible for the rest of us.

One last point (for now) I am old, I have been fortunate enough to travel the world and I say that the common people are good if governments would let them alone. This is still one of the best places in the world to live. IT REALLY IS!!
