Sam: If you really want to change the situation of the students, you'll have to change the school rules as well as the behavior of the teachers, principals, parents, and other adult authorities.

DDN: Well, massive withdrawals would do that, wouldn’t they? Some schools have already started public homeschool programs in response to students quitting and entering independent homeschool programs. Sounds like we got their attention THERE, doesn’t it? And it’s a step in the right direction too. Of course its just an attempt to keep students tied to the state, but at at least it puts them closer to parents and further away from the state’s grasp.

Sam: ……One needn't "do away with" anything (besides the truancy laws) to accomplish this,

DDN: I think we’ve been over this once before. Tell me about the truancy laws again. What are they? Why do you think revoking them would signifigantly change the behaviors and attitudes of public school authorities?
Does this basically mean making it NOT illegal to not be enrolled in ANY school at all? Sounds even more radical than my homeschool extraction program. I love it.
